The Queen Charlotte Skidegate Landing Incorporation committee received a grant of up to $40,000 from the province.
The next step is to hire a consultant to do the incorporation study, said incorporation committee chair, Leslie Johnson. The committee expects to hire a consultant by the end of June.
Community meetings will be held in the fall for people to discuss the issue before the consultant prepares an Incorporation Study Report for the community's consideration, Ms Johnson said.
