RCMP personnel changes coming

Both RCMP detachments expect some staff changes this spring and summer. In Masset, five officers will be transferring elsewhere in the province, but Sgt. Shaw will remain. One replacement member has arrived already. Cst. Dave Dulude is a recent graduate of RCMP Academy in Regina. He will replace Cst. Walkinshaw, leaving in the spring.
At the south end, Sgt. Darcy Gollan will retire April 4 after 29 years of service with the RCMP, the last two in Queen Charlotte. Corporal Sheila White from Smithers will be the acting officer in charge until Sgt. Gollan's replacement arrives in May.
In Skidegate, a new first nations RCMP officer, Cst. Dave Bukkos, is expected to arrive in May.
