RCMP say blockade situation manageable

It was a quiet week for the Queen Charlotte RCMP, but they are continuing to monitor the blockade situation carefully. It is unlikely that more police will be brought to the islands unless things really flare up, said Sergeant Eric Stubbs.
"Right now it's manageable," said Sgt. Stubbs, "but if the situation changes, we'll adapt to that."
Right now, he said, their job is to keep the lines of communication open and ensure public safety. But so far, he added, people have been very cooperative.
As of yet, there are no applications for an injunction to remove the blockaders, but Sgt. Stubbs was unable to say whether that would continue. If Weyerhaeuser or the province were granted an injunction, then the police would have to enforce it.
