Regional district budget update

Directors of the Skeena-Queen Charlotte regional district will meet later this month in Prince Rupert to work out a budget for 2005, says administrator Janet Beil.
A meeting planned for April 7 was cancelled after some directors had to be out of town.
Regional districts are required to pass their annual budget by March 31, but the provincial government has given this regional district an extension to the end of April due to the unusual financial challenges facing Prince Rupert.
The city wants to see the rural villages and areas pay more to make up for a shortfall from bankrupt Skeena Cellulose.
