Repairs to the Rennell Sound Road have been delayed by weather, but the Ministry of Forests hopes to begin the work this week and have it done by Monday (Feb. 21).
The contractor will work through the weekend to get it done, said Brian Eccles of the Ministry of Forests. He'll try to keep the road open as much as possible, but there will be short closures of up to three hours to allow for drilling, blasting and moving of materials.
The road was damaged by a large slide at the end of September.
