Rezoning would allow new store in Masset

Masset Grocery is asking the village of Masset to rezone a lot next next to its store for commercial use, so it can build a new store.
Council members agreed Monday night (Feb. 28) to hold a public hearing on the rezoning. The lot is currently zoned for residential use.
Council members said they did not expect that the rezoning would generate any controversy, and said the planned new store is more evidence of a small boom underway in Masset. The village is building a new marina, the co-op is planning to build a new grocery store, and a new hospital is in the works. There's also lots of construction planned out at the Masset airport.
