Sandspit airport open

The Sandspit airport is open again, after being closed most of Wednesday (Nov. 13) following the crash-landing of a BC Air Ambulance. The Citation jet was on a medevac mission from Vancouver and lost its landing gear as it landed around 9:00 pm Tuesday night. No one was injured. The plane carried a crew of four, and had not yet picked up its patient when it crashed.nSandspit airport manager Bob Ells says he's happy no one was hurt, and that response crews arrived on the scene quickly after they had been notified.nThe plane was lifted off the runway Wednesday. Transport Canada is investigating the cause of the crash.n
