School district enrollment continues to drop, with the district losing the equivalent of six students between the start of the school year and February.School trustees received the bad news in a report from secretary-treasurer Ken Campbell presented at the Feb. 26 board meeting. On Sept. 30, there were almost 722 full-time equivalent students registered in islands public schools. But half-way through the school year, that number has dropped to just over 715 (some students, like kindergartens and adults not taking a full course load, count as fractions of a full-time student). The loss occurred among adult students, according to the report. The equivalent of 20 full-time adult students started school in September but by February there were only 10 in this category. The number of other students increased by four, for a net loss of six students.
