Science geeks are coming

Who: Science AL!VE instructors, aka the super-cool-science-geeks, are ready for our four weeks of camp! Camp will be separated into two age-groups: Junior camp is for students completed grades 2 through 4 and senior camp is for students completed grades 5 through 7.What: Campers will explore the dynamic worlds of science, engineering and technology! Hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations and take-home projects are the focus of all Science AL!VE programs. Projects include: making a hand-powered flashlight, building a light up pen and engineering a mouse-trap car! Campers will also be working on engineering and environmental challenges.Cost: $50 per child. In June, over 400 kids participated in our classroom workshops. We are excited to be working with Agnes L. Mathers Elementary, Tahayghen Elementary, Port Clements Community Hall, Sk'aadgaa Naay Elementary and School District 50 Haida Gwaii this summer, and we know that without their support we could not offer the programs that we do. Science AL!VE is also going to be hosting community events at all four camp locations. Campers, their families, friends, and members of the community are invited to an evening of science activities, exciting demos and lots of fun!
