Second siren test Wednesday

Cover your ears, the Queen Charlotte tsunami siren will tested again Wednesday. The test will be held at 10 am Wednesday morning. The siren was first tested two weeks ago, with mixed results. This time, the village is slowing the rotation of the siren and pausing in each direction to make it more audible to both ends of the community. The $20,000 siren was purchased in response to the earthquake and tsunami evacuation a year ago. Weighing over 500 pounds, it has been installed near the Northern Savings Credit Union.
