Seniors' games Saturday in Queen Charlotte

Submitted by Mavis Mark and Fran Fowler--Saturday (March 13) is the sixth Island Seniors' Games, at the Queen Charlotte Community Hall from 10:00-4:00. We've tried to come up with events for all tastes and energies. From the dessert baking contest to cribbage, from table tennis to bocce, from bananagrams to Sudoku, to Skidegate's laughing game, Doxinaay - we have variety. We have some demonstration sports planned too. Most of all, you'll have a chance to meet and visit with other Islanders, while enjoying good food and lots of laughs. For those travelling on the bus there is a door prize, so take advantage of a free trip down island and back! Pickups in the community centres; in Old Massett at 8:15; in Masset at 8:25; at Port's Multiplex at 9:05 then Tlell PO at 9:20; then Skidegate Seniors Building at 10:00 and on into Charlotte for muffins and games.Come out and support your community team. Points for participation and then see who wins the Old Crowe Trophy and which community the flame will be passed to for the 2011 games.Often we hear people saying they're not seniors even through there are easily over 60, and at the same time we have those in their early fifties wanting to join!
