Shack cleaned up but still a hazard, committee says

Queen Charlotte maintenance workers have capped a sewer line and cleaned up a sewage-filled, burned-out shack on Second Avenue, after management committee member Eric Ross complained that it could be a public health risk.
The RCMP have also been notified of the potential safety hazard, said office manager Debra Uliana.
The management committee voted at Wednesday's meeting (March 5) to write to the owner of the property about clean-up plans. The committee also decided to notify the public health officer in Prince Rupert, and ask him to follow up with the owner.
