Snake found outside Masset

Masset RCMP had a most unusual visitor Tuesday (Aug.3)-a California milk snake that someone found in the woods outside the village.
It seems the four-foot long snake decided to give its owner the slip and take a slither outside. Someone walking through the woods discovered it and called the islands conservation officer who contacted fisheries in Masset to go retrieve the snake, said Sgt. Isles of the Masset detachment. The fisheries officer brought the snake into the police who returned it to its home as quickly as possible.
