The fifth annual Expression Session is coming this weekend.The four-day event will offer surf lessons, films, an art show, as well as the Expression Session itself, an event described by Haida Gwaii Recreation Coordinator Lucy Neville as, an "un-judged celebration of surfing," taking place on Saturday afternoon at the Hiellen River mouth."The idea is to foster that connection between oceanscape and community, so part of the reason we don't just leave it at lessons is to create connections for everybody through art and film. It's not just about being in a wetsuit in the water, it's also about anything that makes you feel connected to the ocean," said Ms Neville.Last year's event had over 370 participants, and Ms Neville is hopeful that this year will be even better attended.
