Teen contest accepting applications

The inaugural Miss Teen Haida Gwaii/QCI event is being planned for the weekend of May 10th in Masset with the location still to be determined. A weekend retreat for all the participants is also being planned for March 7 and 8th sponsored by Kumdis Lodge. All participants will be given a free glamour photo session on March 19th in Masset sponsored by Image Wizards. The event is open to eligible island females ages 13-17. Several teens from Masset, Port Clements, and Sandspit have already expressed an interest in participating.
Deadline for applications is January 24th. If mailed they must be postmarked by that date. Mailing address Box 733, Masset. They can be also be faxed to 626-3956. Application forms are available at various island locations (watch for the posters) and at Total Eclipz, phone 626-3868. An orientation for all applicants and parents/guardians will be held after the applications are processed.
