TFL 39 not for sale, Cascadia president says

Hugh Sutcliffe, president of the newly-formed company Cascadia, wants to put a rumour to rest.
Mr. Sutcliffe told the Observer on Friday (June 17) that Cascadia, which now holds all the former Weyerhaeuser public land tenures, has no intention of selling TFL 39 to the Council of the Haida Nation or anyone else.
He said he is aware of rumours to the contrary, and he called the Observer to make it crystal clear that TFL 39 is not for sale.
"We're not involved in any conversation about selling our operation up there," he said from Vancouver. "Our first choice is to build a business up there and work with the people we have there."
Mr. Sutcliffe said like any other business, it could be sold if someone offered enough money, but that Cascadia is definitely not seeking a buyer.
He added that he will be coming up to the islands in the next couple of weeks.
"I'm looking forward to meeting a number of people on the Charlottes," he said.
