Icy road conditions led to a dramatic accident in Port Clements around 8 am March 12.
A 4×4 SUV sustained extensive damage after it slid off Dyson Rd into a mobile home. No one was injured in the accident, and the mobile home was undamaged, says Sgt. Shaw of the Masset RCMP.
Masset police are investigating a possible break and enter at a house on Cedar Crescent. At 10: 45 pm on March 15, a neighbour called to say he’d heard a loud bang at the house next door, and seen a man running down the street. Police investigated and found two doors and a window open although there was no sign of forced entry. The house owners are away, and police are still trying to contact them.
“The interior of the house gave the impression that someone had been rifling though the owner’s effects,” says Sgt. Shaw. However, police won’t know for sure if anything was stolen until after the owners have checked their belongings.
