We want your photos from Naikoon Park

Submitted by the Haida Gwaii Arts Council--We're celebrating 100 years of Canadian parks, and the BC and Haida Gwaii Arts Councils have hosted two photo walks into Naikoon Park. These offered suggestions on how to improve your photographs. Two key tips to try were: use a tripod and take your camera off automatic! Now you have all summer to visit Naikoon park, take photos, and then email them off to - naikoonphotos@yahoo.com. Try to use your highest quality settings. The deadline for photos is Aug. 30.We'll take the top 25 photos, selected by local judges, have them printed up to a 11.5" x 8" size and then will display both the 25 sheets and the remaining photos on a large electronic picture frame. In late October, there'll be at least two shows, north and south, where viewers will vote for their favourites. We will have some prizes to share. All you need to do is email a photo taken in Naikoon Park, by Aug. 30 to naikoonphotos@yahoo.comHave fun and send us your photos; people, landscapes, still life, whatever you want!
