A "very large, black and big backed" unidentified whale was checking out Skidegate Inlet last Thursday, according to Doug Aiken of Queen Charlotte. He saw it just off Telus Point when it surfaced. Mr. Aiken said it was not a grey nor a minke as it was too large with a "small, hooked, short dorsal." When he last saw the whale it was heading towards Queen Charlotte.
