Work to be finished, finally

Workers will be finishing the job of fixing a cracked sidewalk at G.M. Dawson Secondary this week, four months after the job was put on hold due to the discovery of mammal bones just under the surface.School district superintendent Angus Wilson said an archeological team has been assessing the situation, and has given the go-ahead for the sidewalk work to proceed. The team will be there this week to screen the pile of dirt at the site and make sure there are no further impacts. The Council of the Haida Nation has also been involved.Mr. Wilson said there may be an opportunity for the school's students to watch the work and learn more about archeology.
