Zoning coming to Charlotte this week

Queen Charlotte council plans to pass its zoning bylaw when it meets Thursday (Oct. 24). The bylaw has been in the works for more than two years, and council has held several public meetings about it. Saturday was the last open house, then Wednesday a second public hearing is planned at the village office, 7:30 pm. The bylaw will divide the village into zones such as commercial, rural and residential. It will regulate future development, but not force any changes once adopted. The Thursday meeting is at 7 pm in council chambers.
