March 26, 1936 - August 21, 2022

We regret to announce the passing of Ernie on August 21, 2022. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Ernie immigrated to Canada with his family in June 1949. The family homesteaded and settled in Valemount, BC.
Ernie met and married his wife Carrol in Dawson Creek, and together they raised 4 daughters.
Ernie worked many jobs on oil rigs, in the logging industry, and building roads from the interior to northern British Columbia. He was also a forest ranger and owned a service station.
Ernie moved to the Queen Charlotte Islands in the late 80's where he worked until he retired. Ernie loved living on the Queen Charlotte Islands and had great friendships there. He loved to fish the ocean and rivers near Port Clements. His other passions included flying and hunting. He took many hunting trips with family and friends up the Stikine River near the Dease Lake area.
Dynamite wouldn't have made him leave Port Clements, but after suffering a stroke he moved to Vancouver Island, and finally Calgary to be closer to family. He enjoyed living in Calgary, made new friendships (especially Scotty and Leon) and got to know his great grandchildren, which brought him much joy.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Carrol, daughter Wendy, and sister Elaine. He is survived by his daughters Tony, Suzan (Karl), Carla (Harry), son-in-law Mike, sisters Rigmor, Cathy (Bob), Marie, Ursula, brother Michael, 9 grandchildren (Tyrel, Brent, Jamey, Jordan, Carrol, Christopher, Matthew, Marcus, Melanie) and 7 great grandchildren (Mackenzie, Maximus, Adena, Tristan, Jaydah, Alexis and Danica).
